The Iroquois Steeplechase presented The Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt with a donation of $160,205 on behalf of the proceeds from the 2022 race meet at Percy Warner Park. More than $11 million has been donated to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt over a 41-year partnership. Presenting Sponsor of the Iroquois Steeplechase, Bank of America, was also present for the check delivery.
“We are so grateful to the Volunteer Horseman Foundation and the Iroquois Steeplechase for their continued generosity and steadfast commitment to our programs for more than four decades,” said Meg Rush, President of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. “Since 1981, the funds raised through Steeplechase have had a profound impact on our hospital and the patients and families who rely on us for care.”
Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt provides specialized neonatal and pediatric critical care transport 24 hours a day. Experience and continuous training in the intensive care units and emergency department give them the specialized skills to care for the most critical neonatal and pediatric patients. The hospital treats and works to prevent all health issues ranging from common childhood conditions to serious, advanced diseases.
“Iroquois Steeplechase is a proud benefactor of the Children’s Hospital,” said Dwight Hall, Chairman of the Iroquois Steeplechase Race Committee. “Knowing that children in our community benefit from having access to the highly specialized care that The Children's Hospital provides is the driving focus for our mission and event.”
